On this edition of Working From Scratch I would like to discuss a subject very near and dear to my heart: maps & map markers.
I love using maps and visuals in my game sessions; anything from Powerpoint Presentations (I am not even kidding here) to grid maps and wet-erase markers I have used it. If it is something easy (and economical if possible) that helps my players better visual and immerse themselves in the game then I am all for it. Along this same line however I have ended up running more games away from my normal gaming environment, which means that materials like this all need to be small and relatively portable for best use.
The most recent acquisition in my list of materials for this purpose are these wonderful glass beads (pictured left) picked up from my local craft/hobby store. Continue reading
