Another installment of Travelogue Tuesday swings around just as we receive a hastily written note on Bean’s Tavern from our fearless travel correspondent. Read on for more details on this culinarily unique locale.
Travelogue – Bean’s Tavern
Bean’s Tavern is found in the Forest of No Return, right on the edge of the Salamander Valley. It sports all of the modern conveniences that the seasoned traveler has come to expect, with an old world charm that can only be found in a magical forest like this one. Visitors have often remarked that it was as if the hills that surround the tavern had been watching them, for the hospitality that the Bean clan offers is second to none – anticipating every move and desire of tourists. Over a thousand people have been a part of the hospitality offered by Sawney, the proprietor. His cooking is known throughout the kingdoms of Zethyria, with his award-winning recipe of barbeque long pig, as well as the meat pies that his wife makes by hand. His wife is an accomplished baker who delights in offering sweet treats to the children who visit, and his whole clan joins in making the Tavern a rollicking fun place to stay.
When visiting Bean’s Tavern, let Sawney know that you are a tourist, and he will make sure to put you in the best room in the inn, with steel window bars (for your protection) and over the bed air conditioning. The children will be given a special place to sleep, with treats available any time they want something sweet. Ask for a tour of the kitchen and be amazed at the ovens where he cooks his specialties and the meat pies that are famed far and wide. The local helpers will even keep the whole family amused with a game of Tickle and Scream. Since most of the Tavern activity is geared for the high nightlife, expect to be the center of attention when visiting, with the entire clan waiting on your every desire. Enjoy the special brew that they make in the caves behind the Tavern from a secret recipe that has been handed down from generation to generation. Delight in the surprises to be found in the kettle on the hearth, and don’t forget to leave room for the dessert. The Valerian pie is quite to die for!
Unfortunately the note becomes rather illegible beyond this point as it appears to have been written while running at top speed. Make sure to join us next week for more installments of Travelogue Tuesday and see where our mysterious traveller heads to next!
