Starting from the ground up on any venture can be a daunting task. We here at Mana Punk HQ have been working to create a viable and functional Game Master’s Screen for you our player-base. Unfortunately in order for us to get any GM Screen that would be in line with the ideal that drives Mana Punk (economical, affordable, not crap), a massive outlay of finances would be required on our part… which we simply to not have the resources for at this point in Mana Punk’s existence. We could get screens printed up in smaller numbers and batches, but this would drive the associated price for each one very sharply, which is also not a viable alternative.
We need to get this type of resource to you the players, but we don’t want to be in a position of having to charge an arm and a leg for each one.
So we decided to work from scratch instead!
The idea struck me while looking at a collection of spare ring binders in our office supply closet. “Why couldn’t we just provide the resources for the players to make their own GM Screen?” As a result of some brainstorming, play-testing and general opinion giving… we believe that we have come up with a viable ‘home brew’ solution for the Mana Punk player base to be able to make their own GM’s Screen that is not only functional but versatile and sturdy. We have snapped together this brief instructional video below to help you figure out exactly what we are talking about, and to help you get your very own Game Master’s Screen setup that can be used not only for Mana Punk but other desktop RPG games as well.
After watching the video, download and print out our GM Screen PDF for use in the construction of your very own Mana Punk Game Master Screen. All you need is 7 small sized binder clips, 2 ring binders (make sure the ring binder section is mounted on the inside SPINE and not the INSIDE BACK, this is VERY important) with clear pockets on their outside, and some plastic single pocket clear dividers. Print out the GM Screen PDF, and follow the video above to assemble the whole thing.
If you put one of these together for yourself, please feel free to comment below and let us know how it works for you! Have you made any improvements your GM Screen’s design? Let us know!
