Ok i see hwo you determines the STR for bows but how do you do this for a x-bow i dont see a formula just a flat cost. also there is no range table for the clockwork x-bow

I thought that the Clockwork Crossbow mentioned using the same ranges as the Medium Crossbow? If you compare the damage ratings on them, they should be the same. Basic perk to the Clockwork Crossbow is having a crossbow with 6 shots to fire before needing to reload.

All archery weapons determine their viable firing distance based upon the amount of strength required to actually pull back the string. This "pull strength" has to be held for a bow, but can be cocked and stored until fired with a crossbow. Clockwork Crossbows work exactly the same as a normal medium crossbow, just slightly more automated. If it has rounds loaded in its internal magazine, the Clockwork Crossbow automates retensioning the string and loading a new bolt for firing. This process just stops once it runs out of bolts to fire (total of 6 shots, if I remember right.)

Does that help you out?

I kinda figured it was a medium crossbow but how do you determine the STR for a crossbow ? they have fixed Costs . The Bows you determine the STR during purchase based on the formula.

Bows should have scaling costs while Crossbows have fixed costs. I think I see what you are saying about determining the strength for the crossbow, tho. That was apparently a minor hiccup overlooked during testing, now that I peel it apart. I would say that since Crossbows are supposed to have a fixed firing strength based upon their design (which also gives it a fixed cost), just assign a fixed strength level to each crossbow size.

Light / Pistol = Strength 4
Medium = Strength 6
Heavy = Strength 8

What do you think?

Sounds cool to me Since a crossbow cant really benefit from a higher strength like a bow can fixed STR works. Sorry i keep asking question but i like to have the system down before i run it because i have few people in my group wich can be rules lawyer type players lol

Hey we are here to help! I figure if you ask the questions on the forums, they are there for other players of the system to find. So technically you are helping others as well.

The rules for any game system / game session that I try to remind everyone of is:
* You are all there to have fun.
* The Game Master is coordinating things, so they make the final call.

Hopefully Mana Punk goes well for your group. We'd love to hear details once you get things going!
